About the Company

TutorCloud is an AI powered K-12 learning platform built by educators, bringing adaptive AI tutoring for students, iTEMA for teachers, and clear progress visibility for parents and schools into one place. Schools buy through our sales team; parents and teachers buy directly, in a consumer business that starts in the United States and India and is built to go global. We are building the consumer growth team now, and this is one of its first hires.

About the Role

You own everything that happens after someone signs up: activation, engagement, referral and retention. This is an execution role: you build the journeys, content and creative yourself, working closely with Product, tech, marketing and creative teams to turn engagement into conversion. You run it as a programme with your own KPIs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the referral programme end to end: mechanics, incentives, requirements aligned with Product, and the campaign, content and creative that launch and grow the loop. Rewards span discounts, premium unlocks and shareable leaderboards.
  • Own activation and daily engagement. Define what a strong first session and repeat visit look like for teachers and parents, and turn those triggers into live campaigns and content: streaks, practice goals, parent digests and teacher class reports.
  • Brief and produce the content and creative behind every journey: copy, WhatsApp templates, email design, push notifications and in-app messages, working with the creative team.
  • Build, send and run lifecycle journeys inside our marketing automation platform across markets: onboarding, activation, trial to paid, upgrade, win-back and reactivation.
  • Own segmentation, cohort analysis and engagement scoring, and checkout recovery with inside sales, including the hand-off that routes engaged teacher clusters to school sales.
  • Run a continuous A/B testing cadence on journeys, incentives, timing, channel and copy. Kill what does not move the metric, scale what does.
  • Report weekly on the numbers you own, and use AI tools to build journeys, generate content and automate reporting faster.

What You Will Bring

  • 5 to 7 years in CRM, lifecycle, retention or growth marketing for a consumer app or subscription product with a live user base.
  • You have built a referral or invite loop that worked, and can explain honestly why, and where it leaked.
  • Hands-on with a marketing automation platform: we use MoEngage for B2C and HubSpot for B2B; WebEngage, CleverTap or Braze equally welcome. You build journeys yourself.
  • Multi-channel execution: WhatsApp through a provider such as Karix or Gupshup, plus email, push and in-app.
  • You brief and produce content and creative: copy for WhatsApp, email, push, landing pages and in-app messages.
  • Data-driven by default. Strong command of Mixpanel, Amplitude, CleverTap Analytics or GA4; you instrument before you launch.
  • A natural cross-functional operator across Product, tech, marketing and creative, fluent with current AI tools.
  • Judgement on incentives. You know how a referral scheme gets gamed and design against it without killing the loop.
  • Ownership. You set your own targets, test relentlessly, and say plainly when something is not working.

Good to Have

  • App-based consumer business background: D2C, quick commerce or edtech, with K-12 a strong plus.
  • Freemium to paid conversion experience, especially with a usage-limited free tier.
  • Exposure to consumer audiences in more than one country.
